Termination of Parental Rights #1

The county wants to terminate my rights because I got very upset with the case worker one day, so I threw things in the lobby as I walked out. Later that day I called the social worker and she asked me how that made my son feel. I told her that would have to be something I would want to talk to him about. She said she told my son that I was mad at him and that “I didn’t want to play with him.” So now she is lying to and manipulating my son.

They claim my son witnessed the “entire” situation when I threw things in the lobby, but he didn’t watch me do any of that. He only witnessed the aftermath of the situation. They also claim I was “smashing things” and “screaming” when I was not. I just walked out and pushed over several things in the lobby, and knocked something over as I walked out. I then turned around and picked some of the fake flowers out of the ground and threw them aside. I was angry because the social worker told me that my son “didn’t deserve this” and said she was going to cancel the visit. That is not a reason to terminate my rights and keep my child from me. They said my son claims “I act like this all the time”, but I don’t. The report says my son stated that when his mom gets like this, he just waits for her to calm down and then gives her a hug. They also said he reported to the social worker that “I often behave in such a manner.”

My son would always exaggerate things and I think most children exaggerate things to some extent. They are using him, a child, to take everything out of context.
