I’m getting tired

I’m getting tired of the lies that society has inflicted upon me, acting like they know who I am when they don’t know a damn thing. I’m tired of people thinking they have the right to make permanent assumptions without ever verifying the truth of them. I’m tired of people being so blind that they believe everything that they read or hear. I’m tired of people putting all of their faith into authority as if they are God and forget that we are human and make mistakes too. I feel like as I get older that nobody has truly grown up and we pretend we are better than everyone else just because we’re not children anymore. Disgusting, selfish, and ignorant are the only words I have for people like that. One thing I can never understand is what drives people to hurt innocent people, but the thing that drives most of us is the things that happen to us. We hurt innocent people because they suffer the most. Guilty people often remain unpunished because hurting them doesn’t cause any suffering. They know what they did wrong, but it’s time to strike back at all of the ones who don’t even get a slap on the wrist. They deserve punishment because no amount of reform or restructuring of their minds will ever get them to feel remorse for what they’ve done and all of the damage the caused to others. Though there are the ones who “plead and pray” for mercy once they get the taste of their own medicine, they still don’t care about the things they’ve done. They only care about themselves. People like that don’t and will never change because they enjoy bringing and inflicting pain on others, especially those who do not deserve it. It is a rare occurrence that someone really understands what someone else goes through until they go through it themselves and hardly anyone cares about anyone else until something happens to them or their families. So do we need bring pain just for other people to have empathy? Pain is what drove me to become involved deeper into the criminal justice system and CPS. When I realized and started to become harassed by these systems is when I began to look forward ways to reform them. In this day and age you’ve got to be a rare breed to have empathy and not want to cause suffering to innocent people. The only people we need to forgive are those who don’t fake or pretend to care, who are truly sorry, and change, not those who continue to bring acts of injustice and harm upon others. I’ve had to carry the weight of my abusive ex boyfriend getting away with his crimes while I innocently sat in jail after calling 911 for help.
